Icing Planet is a sugar-based planet where the sun makes the temperature just right for baking the best desserts. The planet is inhabited by a wide variety of candy and dessert creatures that make up the Biscuit Tribe, the clan of Gumi and Cookie. Under the leadership of legendary warriors, the gingerbread people successfully repelled their natural enemy, the Gummy Bears, and established their own home in the Flour Heights.

But recently, the shaman of Biscuit Tribe started tossing and turning at night, unable to sleep. When he was patrolling one night, Cookie heard the shaman's call and came to his tent. The shaman told Cookie the vision he saw every night: That Cookie had yet to face his biggest challenge, which would be harder than climbing Cupcake Mountain, and involve facing a more powerful enemy than a Donut Tyrannosaurus.

When the challenge came, the shaman said, Cookie must not flinch, because he and Gumi were about to fight not only for the glory of the Biscuit Tribe, but also for the entirety of Icing Planet. Soon after, Cookie and Gumi received the Observer's Call.
