Captain Fury, whose real name is Buck Niers, comes from a parallel universe where Earth has become a water world due to global warming. Captain Fury is the most feared pirate in the Seven Seas. Fury’s fleet is said to be invincible, but for him this is not enough. He has always hoped to meet someone who can pose a real challenge to him. Captain Fury was once known to battle an opponent for 300 rounds straight, so when the Observer’s call came, he knew he had found a place he could be content. For him, the war song that his mechanical fist and iron anchor sing out in battle are the most glorious music to his ears.
In a parallel universe, on a planet called Water Earth, the melting of the polar ice caps forced humans and animals to embark on great arks which took them on endless sea voyages. The sea flooded into nuclear power plants and various other industrial pollutants across the earth, causing the water to become so seriously polluted that many creatures began to mutate. A kitten named Buckeneel was one of them. The kitten grew to nearly the same size as a human, and soon after, it gained the intelligence to speak. Needless to say, the kitten’s owner was terrified. Poor Buckeneel was driven off the ark. He was given only a few days’ worths of food and a broken plank, and set adrift. Fortunately, Buckeneel was rescued by a group of pirates a few days later. Buckeneel was filled with hatred because of his owner’s treatment, and that hatred drove him to fight. Soon, he became a fully-fledged pirate, then he became captain of his own ship. And finally, because of the frenzied way he fought with his huge anchor, he gained the title of Captain Fury.
